We received a lovely message this week from a woman called Kerry who went away with KIND as a child to our Balbeg Centre in Scotland. Its lovely to know that we made a difference.
Bit of a random one for you.
In 1997 I was part of a group of kids (I’d never met any of them) and we were taken without our parents to a retreat in Scotland, the company was K.I.ND (Kids in need of distress).
I have many good memories of this week away, but I’ve never ever known where this place was, all I remember is it was a massive castle looking house (to my 12 year old brain) it was in the middle of nowhere with hills and nature and woods all around us, there was a little farm (I remember hating mucking the sheep out 🤢🤣).
We did all kinds of activities including archery 🏹
Long walks up the hills etc.
I remember a man leading the group, he was such a nice man.
Can anyone find out or know how to find out what this place was called and where abouts it was in Scotland? I’ve tried looking on and off over the years, I’m almost 41 now and it’s something I always think about, a little slice of heaven in my memories when all I had at home was hell.
Thank you for your time, I do hope someone is able to help me find this information.
