We received a lovely message today from Lorna Dickson, Deputy Head at Smithdown Primary School:
Smithdown Primary was extremely lucky to send 4 classes to participate in KIND's Science Education Programme. Each class attended daily for a week; learning science in a practical and hands-on way. For our children, the opportunity to learn in such a fabulous environment was amazing. Studying habitats in this green, eco-friendly oasis provided our children opportunities and experiences impossible to offer in the classroom. The children loved exploring the pond and the roof garden - particularly if accompanied by Benji the Dog!
The lunchtime activities were brilliant, great for supporting relationships and self-confidence. The high staff pupil ratio ensured all children were able to fully participate and succeed. Visiting Liverpool Cathedral to find fossils was a real highlight for Year 3 and children showed how much they had learned over the week.
KIND is an oasis in the middle of Toxteth and I hope Smithdown children can continue to benefit from this amazing resource.
